Manchester all set for MIPIM 2010
Thirty-seven organisations from across Greater Manchester will head to Cannes this week to represent the city at MIPIM - the world's premier real-estate event.
Taking place between Tuesday 16th and Friday 19th March, MIPIM is attended by the most influential decision-makers in the industry and provides Manchester with an unparalleled opportunity to promote itself as a place to invest in existing and future property developments.
Leading figures from Manchester's business community, including Ian Simpson, Michael Oglesby, David Leather, David Partridge, Tom Bloxham and Jackie Potter, will host on-stand presentations twice-a-day to update delegates on various projects taking place in the city.
Manchester City Council chief executive, Sir Howard Bernstein, will be part of the panel at an event at Hotel Gray D'Albion on Thursday 18th March that will focus on key subjects influencing the city's direction. He will also take part in a 'European Cities' seminar at the Majestic Barriere Hotel on Wednesday 17th March at which he will discuss how cities can utilise major events to drive regeneration and deliver a genuine legacy.

The Manchester presence at MIPIM is co-ordinated by Marketing Manchester, the agency charged with promoting the city on a national and international stage.
Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, said: "This will be the tenth year that Manchester has attended MIPIM. During that time, our profile as a city has risen significantly and our activity has matured to reflect the changing economic climate.
"What hasn't changed during that time is our determination to showcase the city's biggest property and infrastructure projects to the investors that can make developments happen."
