February is, of course, the month of love and there are also a
range of Valentine's Day deals - including 2 for 1 cocktails on
Valentine's Day at Alchemist.
Details of all bargains are available at www.visitmanchester.com/feb - but make sure to check back regularly as fresh deals will be added each day.
Councillor Pat Karney, Manchester City Council's city centre spokesperson, said: "Manchester had a fantastic Christmas and we all know why - our great city has the best shops and nightlife.
"We want to keep that momentum going, but at the same time recognise that retailers and families alike are struggling in these difficult economic times. That's why we're joining forces with shops and restaurants to ensure that the city has some great offers that will appeal to families who are feeling the pinch.
"It's a great opportunity for Mancunians to continue to support our city centre. And at the same time we can prove that Manchester is not only the UK's top city for shopping and socialising, it's also the best place in the country to get a bargain."
David Allinson, centre director at Manchester Arndale said: "We are delighted to support the 'MCR loves February' campaign as it gives customers some great deals and promotes late night shopping in the city centre. This is a welcome initiative at this time of the year and we are encouraging as many of our retailers as possible to get involved."
Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, said: "More than ever, it is important we support city centre businesses through what is traditionally a quiet trading period. This will help maintain the momentum created by the 'MCR Loves Christmas' campaign and promote Manchester as a place where visitors can make savings through great offers and discounts.
"Retailers, bars, restaurants, hotel operators and transport providers will all benefit from the campaign and support the 75,000 people employed in the tourism industry within Greater Manchester."
Susan Wildman, TfGM's Communications and Customer Services Director, said: "We're delighted to be supporting this campaign. We hope our Metrolink offer encourages even more people to take a trip into the city centre this February to enjoy everything it has to offer."
The campaign runs throughout February and has been organised by Manchester City Council, Cityco, Marketing Manchester and Transport for Greater Manchester.
Businesses still have time to submit their offers by emailing info@cityco.com.
Although the focus is on the city centre, we recognise that local
shopping areas also support jobs and the Manchester economy and any
business in the city is welcome to support the campaign.
