Russell Watson headlines Manchester’s assault on UK conference industry
Visit Manchester has enlisted the support of Russell Watson for the launch of Manchester Live - a recession-busting assault on the UK meetings, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) industry.
The event, which will take place on Wednesday 24th February at The Roof Gardens on Kensington High Street, is timed to coincide with International Confex - the UK's leading event for the conference industry.
Invited guests will have chance to network with over 30 of Manchester's hotels, conference venues and event suppliers before being treated to an exclusive live set by 'The Voice' - one of the world's best known tenors - and an aftershow party with money can't buy incentives.
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, said: "The recession has hit the conference industry hard - particularly the corporate sector - but Manchester has never been one to shy away from a problem. We've got the product, the infrastructure and can offer significant cost savings compared to other areas of the UK - without having to compromise on quality.
"Confex brings together over 10,000 of the most influential people in the business and it's the perfect time to show the industry what we've got. As far as destination showcases go - I think it's safe to say this one is definitely going to break the mould."
