Marketing Manchester appoints new board members
Kate Harrison, marketing director of property management company Bruntwood and Ian Hopkins, assistant chief constable of Greater Manchester Police have been appointed to the board of Marketing Manchester - the agency charged with promoting the city on a national and international stage.
The two were confirmed in post at a board meeting yesterday afternoon.
At the same meeting, the board accepted the resignation of board members Angie Robinson, chief executive of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Bernard Donoghue, former head of government and corporate affairs at VisitBritain.
Bernard also resigned from his role as chairman of the Visit Manchester management committee. He will be replaced in that role by Andrew Harrison, commercial director at Manchester Airports Group.
Visit Manchester is the tourist board for the city-region and is a division of Marketing Manchester.
Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, said: "Kate and Ian bring with them an incredible amount of experience and expertise and we are delighted that they are joining the board.
"I'd like to thank Angie and Bernard for their hard work and
commitment in recent years. On behalf of our chairman, Nick Johnson
and everyone on the board I wish them both well for the
future."
