World Cup legend meets record-breaking school kids of the future
You are invited to attend a photocall at The Cliff Training Ground on Wednesday 14th October between 11am and 12noon.
Norman Whiteside, the ex-Manchester United player who holds the world record as the youngest player to appear in a World Cup match, will host a penalty shoot-out with school children from across Greater Manchester.
The school kids, who will celebrate their 17th birthdays in summer 2018, are the generation that could break Norman's record, hopefully here in Manchester, during a possible FIFA 2018 World Cup in England.
Manchester United Foundation, the community arm of Manchester United, which provides grassroots football opportunities for local children, has organised the shoot-out as part of Manchester United's support for Manchester's host city bid.
For more information on the bid please see, www.manchesterworldsport.com

Norman Whiteside played for Northern Ireland in Spain 1982, when he was just 17 years and 41 days old.
Manchester's bid to become a host city is being led by Manchester City Council, with strong support from both Manchester City and Manchester United football clubs, from Salford City Council and Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, and from the police, the transport authority and Marketing Manchester.
Manchester United Foundation was set up in 2006 to celebrate 50
years of the Club playing in Europe. The Foundation uses the
passion for Manchester United to benefit our communities and
improve the lives of young people through: educational programmes,
promoting a greater understanding of social issues through
education, and by developing unique partnerships with like-minded
organisations.
