Marketing Manchester is committed to leading tourism in Greater Manchester towards a greener future and as an organisation, has taken action in a wide range of environmental issues.
These include energy, water and waste efficiency measures, recycling facilities, the establishment of a Green Action Group, environmental-awareness training for employees, provision of Fair Trade refreshments in the staff kitchen, and promoting the use of public transport both to employees and visitors to Manchester.
Visit Manchester is proud to announce that in February 2009, all of this hard work and commitment to sustainability was recognised when we were presented with a Silver award from GTBS. Following this, in December 2009 we achieved a Silver accreditation with the Manchester Environmental Business Pledge.
